Getting Started

How do I create an account?

Open the Albumination app and tap "Sign In" on the welcome screen. Enter your email address and we'll send you a 6-digit code. Check your inbox, paste the code back into the app, and you're in. No password required — just your email.

What's a "Take"?

A Take is your opinion on an album. Rate it as a Hit (you love it) or Miss (it's not for you), then write up to 1,000 characters explaining why. Takes can be edited anytime, and other users can love or reply to your take.

What's a "Rotation"?

A Rotation is your personal curated list of albums and tracks that define your taste right now. Think of it as a vibe or theme — like "Summer 2026 Essential" or "Lo-fi Study Sessions". You can comment on Rotations, love them, and share them with your followers.

How do I find new music?

Use the Search tab to find albums, artists, tracks, and people by name. The Community section shows trending takes and rotations. You can also follow artists and users to see what they're listening to and their opinions on albums.

Account & Privacy

How is my data protected?

Your account is secured with a 6-digit magic code sent to your email. We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit and at rest. You control your profile visibility, and you can delete your account anytime from Settings → Danger Zone → Delete Account. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Can I make my profile private?

Currently, all profiles are public so the community can see your takes and rotations. If you'd like to delete your account, go to Settings → Danger Zone → Delete Account.

How do I change my email?

Go to Settings → Account → Change Email. We'll send a verification code to your new email address to confirm the change.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Settings → Danger Zone → Delete Account. You'll be asked to verify with a code sent to your email. Once confirmed, your account and all associated data (takes, rotations, comments, follows) will be permanently deleted.

Takes & Interactions

Can I edit my take?

Yes. If you're the author of a take, you can tap the three-dot menu and select "Edit". You can change your rating (Hit/Miss), the text, or both.

What does "Love" mean?

Love is a way to show you vibe with a take or comment. It's like a "like" or "clap" — it shows the author you think their take hits. The more loves a take gets, the more it rises in the community feed.

Can I reply to a take?

Yes. Tap "Replies" on any take to see and add replies. You can also add GIFs to your replies via the Giphy integration.

Can I love a rotation or comment?

Yes. You can love any rotation or comment you vibe with. Tap the heart icon to love it. The more loves something gets, the more visible it becomes.

Can I report inappropriate content?

Absolutely. If a take, rotation, comment, or user violates our community standards, tap the three-dot menu and select "Report". Choose the reason and we'll review it promptly.

Rotations & Discovery

How do I create a rotation?

Go to the Home tab and tap "Create Rotation". Add a title, description, and start searching for albums and tracks. Once you've added items, publish it to share with the community.

Can I edit my rotation after publishing?

Yes. Go to your Rotation and tap the edit button (pencil icon) to add/remove albums, change the title or description, and save your changes.

How do I follow someone?

Tap on a user's profile and hit the "Follow" button. You'll then see their takes, rotations, and activity in your feed.

Technical Troubleshooting

The app won't let me log in

Check that you've entered the correct email address. Verify you received the 6-digit code in your inbox (check spam/promotions too). If you didn't receive it, tap "Resend Code" or try again in a few moments. If issues persist, reach out to support@albumination.com.

Search isn't returning results

Make sure you've completed onboarding (creating your profile). Try searching for exact album or artist names. Search covers local library, MusicBrainz, and our user base — if it's an obscure album, it may not exist yet. You can also suggest new music to the team.

Push notifications aren't working

Go to Settings → Notifications and confirm notifications are enabled. On your device, check that Albumination has permission to send notifications in your OS settings (iOS: Settings → Notifications, Android: Settings → Apps → Albumination → Notifications).

The app is crashing or freezing

Try closing and reopening the app. If it persists, restart your device and reinstall Albumination from the App Store or Google Play. If the issue continues, email support@albumination.com with details about when it happens.

My changes aren't saving

Check your internet connection — a strong WiFi or mobile connection is required. If you're on a weak connection, wait a moment and try again. If it still doesn't work, restart the app.
